Each year, MMG, as part of Ketchum and its family of companies,
participates in Ketchum Social
Responsibility (KSR).This initiative is platform to demonstrate
the organization's focus on and commitment to community service and
corporate social responsibility. Here at MMG, September was a busy
month as we participated in two charitable affairs. And they were
fun and easy and made a difference in our community!
Our conference room turned into a party earlier this month when
we gathered to assemble meals for the Montgomery County
Coalition for the Homeless (MCCH). As a group, we packaged 40
bagged lunches to be delivered to MCCH, a community-based
non-profit organization in Montgomery County, MD. The lunches
contained two sandwiches, healthy snacks, and water.
MCCH is a major provider of housing and shelter for homeless and
formerly homeless individuals. This community service event helped
to provide lunches to an organization that has a positive impact on
the lives of more than 1,500 homeless men, women, and children who
MCCH serves every year. More information about how to help this
organization is available at www.mcch.net.
Also as part of KSR, we gathered to make blankets to support Project Linus. Project Linus is
a non-profit organization, headquartered in Bloomington, IL, that
orchestrates activities across many chapters in the United States.
The goal of the organization is to help children in need by
providing blankets made by individuals who care-adults and children
from many walks of life.
Again, as a team, we cut up blankets purchased from a local
fabric store to make a truly unique gift for children in need. The
edges of the blankets, cut in stripes, were tied up creating a fun
new border on an already colorful blanket. Five children in need
will now be much warmer as we approach the cold winter months!
Project Linus averages about 350 donated blankets every month
and continues to grow. As the blankets are collected locally,
anybody interested can chip in. For more details on this
organization, visit www.projectlinus.org.
September at MMG was a month of giving and helping the
community, and we look forward to other opportunities to give
throughout the year. We are proud to have contributed to those less
fortunate than us and are looking forward to doing the same next
year and for years to come!
